Some roles may offer training. However, check which skills you need first and what you can learn on the job.
5) Check the Hours
Some jobs need on-call shifts. Therefore, ask about nights and weekends before you agree to the work schedule.
6) Plan Your Travel
Site work may involve travel. Also, check whether the role needs a driver’s licence or your own transport.
7) Update Your Resume
List your recent work, skills and training. Next, check your phone number and email so the team can reach you.
8) Ask How to Apply
Finally, contact the team about the career you chose. Confirm what to send and where to send it.
9) Prepare Your References
Before you share references, ask each person first. Choose people who can describe your skills, work habits and teamwork.
10) Ask About Pay and Benefits
Also, ask how pay and benefits work for the role. Confirm which benefits apply and when they start.
11) Get Ready for Your Interview
If you are invited to an interview, review the job duties. Then, prepare clear examples from your work and questions about the role.
